About Carrie

Carrie Brankiewicz Photo

Carrie is an avid fitness enthusiast having participated in high level, organized sports through the collegiate level.  The benefits she received from regular participation in structured exercise lead her to pursue a career in fitness. After graduating magna cum laude from Kalamazoo College in 2004 with an honors degree in Biology, Carrie earned her personal trainer and group fitness instructor certifications through the American Council on Exercise and her massage therapy certification from the Kalamazoo Center for the Healing Arts.  Carrie believes that participating in a health and fitness program should increase one’s body awareness and health, as well as enhance one’s quality of life.

In 2007, she opened Carrie’s Fitness Studio in downtown Kalamazoo to serve the mission of offering women and men a private, safe and supportive fitness studio in which to provide holistic, functional and complete fitness training. In August 2010, Carrie opened The Fitness Spot in downtown Kalamazoo.  This space serves the same mission as Carrie’s Fitness Studio but is three times larger. Carrie sees The Fitness Spot as a business that supports and encourages health and wellness in the Kalamazoo community.

About Cris:

Cris teaches spin classes on Monday evenings and Friday mornings. She always tells people to not be intimidated by the bike. “It’s completely your ride. You determine the intensity of your own bike and all bikes are designed to fit all shapes, sizes, and abilities!” If you’re looking for a calorie-burning, energizing, music- oriented workout, come join the fun!

Along with spinning, Cris also owns Fit Check, a metabolic assessment program. Fit Check measures your metabolism during a resting session and workout session. After the sessions are complete, she collects the data and creates a customized cardio program based on your unique metabolic profile. The results gathered can be life changing!
